I am currently a junior studying speech, language, and hearing sciences at the University of Colorado. The ability to communicate with others is something we often take for granted, so I hope to help children improve these skills to benefit them for a lifetime. Now I know what you are probably thinking–what does that have to do with art? And I would agree…absolutely nothing. Growing up, I always had an interest in art and did well in these types of classes. I hope to keep this attribute of mine alive through this course as well as learn how to become a better artist. The opportunity to express myself through media other than words provides me with a balance between my creative side and my major. Outside of school, I love meeting new people as I am quite the extravert. I played competitive soccer in high school and it was my entire life, no joke. Being a part of such a tight knit team, I learned how a multitude of personalities can come together to achieve success. I think this experience influences my interactions with others and is the reason for my high aspirations. After covid, I realized how much I enjoy getting out of my house and how much of an impact the sunlight has on my mood. I am an avid iced coffee drinker and find reality TV wildly entertaining. My weekends alternate between nights out with my friends and staying in with my roommates, but I rarely say no to an invitation.
