Brainstorm Blog #2: Exquisite Corpse Soundscape

For this project, I want to combine a group of sounds that have a calming effect with a climax somewhere in the middle. I am not yet sure what ten sounds I will use from the shared folder, but one that stood out to me was the sound of a candle wick burning. I feel that this emulates the type of emotion that I hope to portray in my final product. For the beginning of my soundscape, I want to start out with something more mellow that eventually fades into something more powerful, and then fade back out to end with a calming feeling. For the middle of my piece, I want something that is unexpected based on how it begins, but still seems to fit in a surprising way. I also like the idea of including some sort of voice over, similar to the one I used in my pop quiz (which was a sports commentator). I hope to combine this with a statement sound that really brings life to the soundscape. This could be a powerful instrument, a beat with a deep bass or melody, or possibly a random sound that I feel just fits with the beginning and end of the piece. To do this, I plan to figure out what the beginning and end will sound like first, and then determine what the climax will sound like in the middle.
